VP Growth Strategy

Bell Curve is a story-led, full-service growth agency. Using a business consultancy model, we partner with some of the fastest growing start-ups and enterprises in the world to help them grow millions of dollars of revenue. We’re seen as thought leaders in the space, having written the most popular guide on growth and often asked to give talks at places like Google and Y Combinator.

Our approach to growth marketing and our work culture are unlike more traditional agencies. We work at the intersection of brand and performance and bridge the two together to bring our partners sustainable and defensible growth. We've gained some serious momentum this year and are looking for our VP, Growth Strategy to lead our strategist team and our business into creating even more wins for our clients.

What you will do

Create revenue growth for our clients; your number one priority is to ensure our clients see growth in their business. We predominantly work with well-funded SaaS companies where you will be a trusted advisor and partner helping them think through (and execute) full-cycle marketing strategies. Our clients trust us because of our expertise and willingness to disrupt all elements of the marketing cycle. You will be seen as a thought partner, tasked with building out best-in-class growth strategies.

Manage and oversee a team of strategists; this group of individuals is the heart of our business and while you will be tasked with growing the team in the next year, we predominantly want to remain lean. Your role in the team is to ensure all strategy work is exceptional and continues to push the status quo in our industry. As part of this role, you will be tasked with building out and continually improving processes that help us be more effective. You will work to nurture and grow that talent within your department, focusing on improving individual performance and engagement.

Nurture and grow client relationships; while you are not directly responsible for initial sales, you will play a key role in the early stages of client relationship management. After initial calls with our Managing Director, you will participate in early conversations with clients to showcase our forward-thinking and brilliant strategic talent. You will continue to nurture all client relationships at various levels and be the point of contact for our strategist team if a client has an issue. You will be responsible for delivering great work that leads to revenue through account growth of our current clients. Rather than being a sales-first company, we expect that you will deliver great work and clients will be excited to grow the services that you believe they require.

Who you are

Someone with exposure to the full marketing funnel who has a track record of success at/or working with notable start-ups or high growth enterprises; your background holds clout, opens doors for you and immediately builds trust with potential clients. You may have been in product marketing working in-house at companies where you were responsible for getting clients in the door and keeping them engaged throughout every phase of the customer journey. You use this past knowledge to inspire confidence in our future and current clients.

Great at managing a team but want to be doing strategy work; it’s likely at this point in your career you’ve managed very large teams. You realize that when a team is huge, almost 100% of your role is focused on people management and you miss hands-on strategic work. At Bell Curve, we want to create lean teams. This means that you do a great job managing and developing a team, but also appreciate being able to participate in strategist work.

We understand that many people don’t move from in-house growth/marketing roles to work at agencies. However, we don’t operate in a traditional agency model; you will work with only select clients, manage a small team of people while continuing to do the work you love, have incredible flexibility in working location/hours and be paid a generous salary of 185k USD (regardless of location) + access to a profit sharing plan.

You’ll report to the Managing Director who has created a culture where overworking is not a sign of success. You will have unlimited vacation; and unlike most workplaces, we actively track and ensure you take time off. This policy also allows for ultimate flexibility in parenting or other care-giving responsibilities that you may have. The majority of our clients work on Pacific Time, so while you may be located anywhere in the world, there will need to be a general availability in this time zone for the outcomes of the role to be achieved.

A paid acquisition expert with demonstrable experience in paid social (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc) in addition to exposure to SEM, SEO, affiliate and referral marketing.

Account / Project Manager

What will you be doing?

Implementing systems and processes to deliver an exceptional customer experience for our clients and partners. This includes:

  • Client Onboarding (system access, customer interviews, etc)
  • Project management of all existing client growth engagements
  • Client relations documentation (meetings notes, weekly updates, etc)

You’ll brief in and enable our partners (freelancers, contractors, consultants, boutique agencies, etc) to do their best work for our clients and ensure all work is delivered on time.

You will be supporting the Growth Strategists on client Growth projects:

  • Customer Interviews / Stakeholder interviews
  • "How have others?" research
  • Supporting Growth strategy audit work

Continuously grow trust, confidence, and momentum with each partner and account.

Effectively communicate, both in-person and digitally, to provide clear direction and enable collaboration between Bell Curve and client partners.

We're hiring someone to work with us as a strategic and tactical copywriter. By this I mean someone who can write copy that sells.
